Before you pay

Why claim a country

Banneret is a world map where one agency holds each country. This page is the whole offer — what you get, what you do not get, and what it costs. Read the second half before you pay.

What you get

What it costs, and why

The starting price of a country comes from one thing: how much room it takes up on the map. Russia is a sixth of the surface; Luxembourg is a rounding error. Nothing else goes into it — not market size, not our opinion of your country.

That rule is why the countries agencies actually want — the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore — are among the cheapest. Small on a map, cheap on the board.

The board is the 195 UN member states plus Greenland. Greenland is not a country — it is part of the Kingdom of Denmark — but it takes up more room on the map than most of the board, so it is worth holding and it is on sale like everything else.

What you do not get

This is the part most pages leave out. None of it changes after you pay, so it is here before you do.

The countries with no logo

These 29 are drawn as a dot. Everything else in the offer applies to them — page, clicks, badge, founding mark — but the logo does not.

Generated from the same map data the board uses, so this list cannot go stale.

The rules, in full

  1. One agency per country.
  2. The price of a free country comes from its size on the map.
  3. A country that is held costs 1.5× what its holder paid.
  4. Paying more takes it immediately. There is no auction and no waiting.
  5. Payments are not refunded when you are outbid.
  6. If two payments cross, the slower one is refunded in full, automatically.
  7. A season lasts 30 days. All reigns end when it closes.
  8. Position is determined by amount paid, not by quality.
